This story starts with confidence. Dangerous levels of confidence. I saw a qipao in a small shop and thought: “Wow. If I wear this, I will instantly become elegant. Graceful. Mysterious. Like I belong in a movie.” So I bought it. Fast forward 10 minutes later: I put it on and immediately realized two things: 1. This dress does NOT forgive bad posture 2. I do, in fact, have bad posture Anyway, I stepped out into Suzhou, ready to serve looks. First challenge: walking. You think you know how to walk? No. You don’t. Not in a qipao. Every step becomes tiny. I wasn’t walking—I was… gliding…? Second challenge: stairs. Stairs are now my enemy. Each step felt like a strategic life decision. One wrong move and I’d either trip or accidentally invent a new fashion disaster hhh. Third challenge: sitting down. Nobody tells you this, but sitting in a qipao requires a full engineering plan. Angle, speed, fabric control—all critical. I spent 5 seconds just mentally preparing before every chair. BUT. Despite all these challenges, I actually felt AWESOME. The city was doing its thing—white walls, quiet alleys, soft light—and suddenly I looked like I belonged in that scene. Also: PHOTOS. Let me tell you— qipao is a scam (in a good way). In real life, I was 60% stressed, 40% confused. In photos? 100% elegant. Absolutely unreal. Oscar-worthy performance lol. Final thoughts: • Comfort level: questionable • Mobility: limited • Main character energy: MAXIMUM And right now, qipao actually has become a part of my daily life ( a dress that I would wear even when going to class hhh).
